I am a student from the United States studying in Madrid, Spain. I am an avid outdoorsman and am looking to go hiking outside the city? It would be nice if there are trails that reach any summits too! Anyways there is a big catch, I need to be able to get there via public transit! I don't have access to a car so I could take a metro/train/bus or whatever I would need. I DONT SPEAK SPANISH which is why I have had trouble researching this!

I have heard of some 200km trails but I am looking more for summit trails (Parking lot to top of mountain).

Thanks!

Mary: Yes I do speak a little spanish and I know a few Americans that do, but rather then explain what degree of spanish I understand it is easier to ask for a completely english answer. Also I can't just ask any friend because I am planning some serious hiking that not everyone can just do on a whim.
