My natural hair color is brown, but I have dyed auburn hair with blonde highlights. Unfortunately, the roots are getting pretty visible, and I'm not sure how to touch them up. I don't have the time or the money to get both a base color and a highlight treatment at a salon, but I could do one or the other. Should I do a base color on my own and then go to a salon, or should I ask the salon to find a way to blend the roots?
