HIGHER EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION?
I love the appeal of a career in higher education administration. I think I could really excel in this realm. I love to learn, but do to a full time and part time job and being in school full time my grades have suffered and I am going to graduate with a 2.5. I have found a grad school I have a good choice of getting into but I dont know what program to choose? I would very much like to get into higher education but I know that that degree puts you in a box and due to my undergrad gpa I fear being limited even if my master's gpa is higher than a 3.0!? Will this happen? My alternative degree choice is Public Administration with a concentration on education. I know I can get into higher education administration with this degree but I would like to know SPECIFICALLY, how this relates to the profession. Would I be limited for choosing this degree type? If you have experience in higher education, what do you think the best route for me is, considering my circumstances? I am most greatful for any information you can provide =)

I am a former teacher, and I cannot think of any instance where administrators weren't teachers first who rose through the ranks. If you are adamant about education administration, you might first approach a Board of Education and ask to speak to an administrator (Superintendent) about how s/he got to their level.
Good luck!
