High School VS Confirmation Class?

As you can tell by the question, I'm making a choice whether to attend the confirmation retreat or study for high school mid-term.
Confirmation retreat is when a class spends time worshiping God, praying, learning, etc. for a day or more.
Me and my confirmation classmates are having a mandatory retreat this Saturday from 8AM to 6PM. The bad news is that I have mid-terms next week and want to spend my whole weekend studying. If i don't attend this retreat, I fail the confirmation class.

Just to let you know, I'm a 9th grader who attends DeBakey High School, the 40th best high school in the US. If a student fails any subject at DeBakey, he/she might be put on probation or kicked out of this school. Though this school is vary hard and puts a lot of stress on my mind, I really love this school due to the hard working environment and my new friends that I love. I don't want to get kicked out of this school because then I would have to attend this bad-reputation high school.

Back to the subject, I would like to spend my time studying but the retreat is going to mess this up. I can't really spend on Sunday since I have volunteering and a class I must attend. And if I were to tell my confirmation teachers "I can't go because I have mid terms next week and I must study." They might say "You're putting education over God?" or something like that. I really love God but I would also want my education.

I'm sorry this is long, but if you were in this situation, what would you do?
Thank You Very Much
