I want to teach high school history in Texas, do I need my degree to be in history? Right now I am a social science with an education concentration major. However, I can change my major if necessary, although I really do enjoy the major I am in. If I don't have a degree in history, can I not teach it at the high school level? I know I have to get the certification at the high school level, but I was unsure about needing a degree in the subject I want to teach. Thanks!
