Does anyone know how fast guys on a high school baseball team pitch? im lookin to join the j.v team, so the players are 9th and 10th graders only. plz help
It depends on the quality of players really. I played against a kid who threw 90 in 9th grade tho that is very unlikely lol. You will probably be facing 60mph-75mph fastballs and some people have some nasty off speed pitches in 9th and 10th grade also.
On JV you'll face pitchers anywhere from 65-75. Most likely it will be between 65-70 with the exception of the standout freshman or sophomore pitchers who are not ready for varsity who throw mid to upper 70s. Once you get to varsity, top pitchers in the league usually throw low to high 80s but the average for a varsity pitcher is probably 75-80.
