High School Athletics Football?

Currently Holding a 1.7 cumul GPA and Graduating early in December. The summer time is coming up and i wanna start getting big to play the tight end in position in my school. Is it even possible to play or what? people say 2.0 gpa but is it needed since its about to be summertime? or what anyone have an idea on this? someone told me it doesnt matter if my gpa is 1.7 as long as i can maintain a 2.0 gpa for each semester? is that correct? Also i was supposed to graduate in 07 but im gonna be graduating of december 08. I moved from up north to down south to different school standards and i wasnt in the best status so was left back. anyone got any information?
 
you have to be hoding at least a c- average...works out to about a 2.0...may get on the team won't play until gpa is high enough
