My mom drives a 2004 Pontiac Vibe and ive noticed some high pitched whining sound coming from her wheels when i drive it. I know she has driven up a few curbs and the normal potholes but nothing too serious. Its a constant sound too, not just when you use the brakes. Can anyone tell me what this could be coming from or if its a sign of something serious? well probably be taking it to get checked out later this week but i wanted to know if anyone knew what was wrong before we spent money on it.

it could be the metal tabs on brake pads that rub on the brake rotor when pads are worn down enough to need replacing, this is to let u know they are nearly worn out.

Could be alot of things. But on more than one occasion I've found weird noises to be something like a stick or piece of wire that was accidently ran over and now rubbing on a moving part. Crawl underneath to look before taking it in, if you haven't already.
