First post! Anyway, I have a 1980 GS550L Suzuki and when I turn the handlebars right the engine revs. It doesn't seem to be the choke cable. I would assume the throttle cable but it does not appear to be moving when I do this. Any assistance would be great!!

It doesn't SEEM to be the choke cable or the throttle cable but IT IS one of them.

Most likely the throttle cable(s). Probably not enough slack OR the cable sheath is not routed correctly so that it gets pinched or bent on the right turn.

This is not a difficult thing to fix. A careful inspection should find the problem.

It is probably NOT a good idea to ride it until you get it fixed 'cause the problem could get suddenly worse; crash-boom!
