I want to subscribe to Animal Planet for one month only..assuming it's showing the Westminster Kennel Club show on both nights (Feb 15 & 16)
From my chat with bell CS the cost is $2.50 a month..but are there any other of those hidden fees that bell is so famous for? For instance, will I get hit with a $25 charge for making the change for one month?
Thanks.

If you are on an older package right now, you may loose that benefit when you try to revert back to your normal programming. They would then be able to move you to a new package that could cost you more.

I added some French channel just to watch a game and removed it 2 or 3 weeks later and I didn't get hit with a $25 charge.

No fee for adding that channel in, or for taking it off. There would be proration, since you probably won't be adding it on the billing cycle date. So, there'll be a partial month's charge, depending on how many days until the beginning of the next billing cycle.
Then, you'll have to have it removed as of the next billing cycle date after the thirty days are up. Those are the only charges.

Do you have News & Learning 1 already? If so, just get them to update the theme package, and you'll have Animal Planet for free.

If you're being charged $2.50, then you're probably on the most recent programming platform, so no surprise programming changes there.

I recently did this. There is an old N&L1 that has Animal Planet as a $2.50 extra and a new N&L1 that includes Animal Planet for no extra charge. The rest of the lineup is the same.

There are no extra fees if the channel is removed before the billing date. After that, an extra month's service is charged.

Yep, News and Learning 1 was updated quite a while ago to include Animal Planet. I called up and they added it in about 5 seconds.

Well how about that..I called up as was suggested and got the animal planet I wanted for free..it's included in my N&L1 as the poster suggested..just in time for my Winchester Kennel Club show :D
Thanks very much for the help!

Glad it worked out for you.

Great!

You're going to enjoy Animal Planet, I'm sure. And you've got it for as long as you keep N&L1. :)

I always add channels for a week then remove them (especially since I have a PVR). I wait until a bunch of movies are on TMN that I like, subscribe for a week, and load up my PVR.

Same goes with any other channels - best part is you are only charged by the day by BTV - and it's simple through the self-service on the bell website to add and cancel immediately.
