need to do to move there? my husband is graduating from mos school in a week and he found out he is stationed in camp pendleton..he is coming home for a 10 day leave but we dont know what to do after that..like do me baby and i go down there with him straight away with all our things?? can we get on base housing straight away?? or do we find apartment for ourselves?? do we need inform the USMC then?? any information would be great and very much appreciated..THANK YOUU!!! :)

OK, in the army you get a hold of housing and there was always a waitnign list so you may want to consider either moving permanently living off post or him moving in th ebarracks and you off post until you get housing on post, you get a hold of trasportation to get your stuff moved at the next post, I assume either way.

Here's how I'm pretty sure it goes:

Your husband gets to Pendleton on his own. Once he gets to his command he sees about getting housing; if base housing is available he could get that, or he might need to get housing off base. He fills out whatever paperwork and the military pays to have all your stuff moved to the new place.

However it goes, it's probably better to stay where you are and let him find out from his command what steps he needs to take to get you and your stuff moved over there. No matter what, the military should pay the moving and transportation costs.

There is housing on base but I don't know what's available there, I'm sure the MC will give you an information package on who to call regarding housing on base. There is also a lot of off base housing and you can check for rentals on line with the North County Times paper or the San Diego Union Tribune paper web sites. Good luck.
