Hi does anyone have info on a camra by panasonic called AG-160. When was it made? tube?

ccd? consumer or pro? Hi I just bought a camera and it did not arrive yet I just had some quetions about it. It is called the Pansonic AG-160. The person I bought it from said it was a professional camera but I do not think it is broadcast at all. Maybe industrial use? When was it made which year? Also is it a tube or ccd camera and if it is a tube which one? He said it had a white balance feature on it but I do not this a consumer camera from 20 plus years ago would have one on it. Also he said it was about 20 years old but I read somewhere else someone said it was from the 1980's so I am not sure. I know it may not have a color bar generator on it. Does anyone know in the early to mid 80's what was a good camera for broadcast use out in the field? Ikegami maybe but which models? I am looking for a cam with a color bar generator and that is tube portable from the early to mid 80's. Also could be late 70's too or mid 70's. Anything good? Also once the tubes are shot how hard are they to replace? Thank yous so much!

Sony Betacam SP cameras were the broadcaster rig of choice back in the day. following the established professional format layout. Good solid cameras with CCDs, Panasonic made a couple of weired S-VHS cameras which had 2ccds (rather than the more usual 3) with the green component channel constructed by some maths in the camera. may have been the AG-160.

Most cameras from the 80s were CCD. You would need to go to the 70s to get a tube camera, but they fell out of favour because they were heavy, bigger, needed fairly regular alignment, the tubes were fragile and prone to smear and streaking.

Most single camera location shooting was done on film for this reason, with tube cameras being used for studio set ups or outside broadcasts.

I'm not sure if you are after a tube camera or not? It would be difficult to get parts nowadays.
