ok , so i just got a new laptop, and i go to choose "available" for chat and it wont let me choose "avaialble ", just stays on offline , very frustrated ,
to those who replied to my conundrum, appreciate it ,, i did get a answer from yahoo , didnt hve abode flasher , have a great weekend
 
Sounds like your new lap top firewall is set too high
in your browser click on internet options >security>
set all to default level at the bottom>apply>ok
that should do it.
