HGTV, Food Network Missing

Did Bell move HGTV around in it's programming line up (particularly for old packages?) It's not showing up in my subscribed channel listing anymore.

I've had HGTV (ch. 600) for years, and really enjoy shows like Holmes on Homes and Real Renos, Deisgn Inc. and was starting to get into Sarah's house. I was really looking forward to being able to record them on the refurbed 9200 DVR, which I got up and running in the last week of October.

However, after about a week of recording HGTV shows, on 11/7 last week, the channel started showing up as not subscribed. I can't view it because it loads an error message indicating it isn't part of my programming. I'm not sure but I think I have the same problem with the Food Network (I'm not sure because I didn't watch that very much).

I have an older set of programming packages, and this may be the problem, but I'm wondering if anyone can idenitify what happened? I made no programming changes, and can't figure it out. I'm also still waiting for a new Smart card which has apparently been mailed out to me, so I don't see some channels on the 9200, but those don't give the same error message - they are just blank - no video. I expect a new smart card will resolve that.

I have a friend with Bell and he has an even older package, but he still seems to get HGTV so it doesn't make sense to me...

Any ideas?

PS. My DVR still has a timer to record a couple of those shows on HGTV, but of course when I play them back, they halt immediately and return to the DVR menu. I just end up deleting those recordings, as I'm assuming they won't work even if the issue gets resolved.

Hey Choots...Take a passage to Bankok and give Bell a call. They should be able to give you an answer.:D
 
It's wierd, I can see that I'm subscribed to Lifestyle 1 and 2 online, but HGTV and Food Network are showing up as unsubscribed.

What channel are Slice and Spike on? I can't see them in the EPG at all...

Ps. I hate calling Bell due to previous experiences. That's why I like this site - chock full of good info!
 
HGTV and Food (along with many others) changed channel package flags on October 30.

it does show up for me. no problem at all. have you change your smartcard??
 
Hi Cable...In my first note I indicate I'm waiting for the new smart card because I just activated this older receiver on my account recently.

I'm hoping that will address my problems, perhaps with a re-hit of the receiver. Here's hoping it arrives soon.

With the old Card you will keep loosing channels until you get and install the new Card.

You can syncronise your programming from that page (you must log in first). Ths syncronisation will do the same as a hit from an agent
 
I was sure I posted this earlier, but maybe it didn't take, or logged me out...

Anyway, my card arrived on 11/17, and I swapped it out. Within the hour, all my programming was being received as expected - worked like a charm!

Thanks for all your responses to my questions! It's nice to have this working properly.
