Question is:
What do you think fills the space between the cell membrane and the cell wall of a plasmolysed onion cell?


I have no idea...
 
I believe it's just the water (and maybe some other fluids) that were inside the cell to begin with. This is due to unequal concentration gradients inside and outside the cell. It happens through the process of osmosis
