These questions are really confusing me and verything i try does not make sense can someone explain these to me please?!

1. When performing a melting point on a solid compound, 2 melting point determination were made, One sample, which was 1mm in height in the capillary, possessed a melting point of 141-142 degrees celcius. The other sample was 5mm in height. What would you expect the approximate melting point to be for this sample, if the heating rate for both was 2 degrees per minute?

i assumed they would both be the same but i don't think that's right.

2. for the same solid compound as the question above, if the 1mm was heated 12 degrees Celsius per minute on Gallenkamp melting point apparatus, what would you expect for an approximate melting point?

Thank you so much! i have tried really hard but just can't seem to grasp them!
