I am a 35 year old mother of 2 in great health. I also absolutely HATE going to the dr! My 1st child was born by c-section 17 years ago, my 2nd was born naturally 15 years ago. About 10 years ago I noticed a very small lump right on the end of my c-section scar. It did not hurt and would go away when lying down. It felt almost like a small pebble. I went for a yearly checkup and dr told me it could be a hernia and not to worry unless it got bigger or caused pain. Up until about 3 years ago it never bothered me. It is now a bulge and much bigger (about 1/2 the size of a golf ball). I have a sharp pain in the bulge every now and then. In the past few months I have noticed the skin around the bulge is a blue color much like a bruise. It is not unbearable but I am ashamed for my husband to see me naked because it is so ugly and even when I wear a swimsuit it's bulging out enough that I feel self conscious. I have not had any problems with bowel movements and do not feel sick.
Do I need to see a dr now or wait and see what happens. My husband and I are going on a cruise in 2 months and I'm scared if I have to have surgery I won't feel like normal by then but if it's a problem I'm scared I may have problems while we're gone.
Any advice will be great
