Hernia surgery?

On my second hernia surgery, the surgeon found 2 hernias while he doing the surgery. He told me he used a big piece of mesh to cover both hernias.
My advice is to REST, REST, REST. I definitely went back to the gym too soon. If I could do it over, I would have rested an additional 6 weeks. Short walks around the block and a LOT of reading.
Are you having laporascopic or open?

Im sure you will be fine for your wedding. But for me, I wish I would have had open surgery NOT laporascopic. More pain and longer recovery but I have had it in the past and it worked!!! I am an idiot...I saw this hernia surgeon on a Thursday afternoon and had surgery the very next day at 8 AM. What an idiot I was. But I was in bad pain and thats all I thought about. Well anyway Good Luck again, Im sure you will be fine. Just make sure you trust your surgeon. Use your instincts.
 
Oh okay! I had thought the open surgery would mean for longer healing, but I'll definitely be talking to my surgeon about it today or tomorrow so I can get all the details. Although this IS a new surgeon for me, I've been researching about her and reading reviews from others who have had surgery performed by her. Everything looks good, so I am hoping for the best! I felt very comfortable with her and I like that I didn't feel rushed at all during my consultation, as I often do with other appointments.
 
Thats good that you trust her. My Hernia surgeon is notorious in the West Coast of Florida. He is considered the best. I know another doctor that used him. Every where I go I hear about him. He is in all the newspapers and was actually on the local news channel. GUESS WHAT? It means nothing to me now. I did not get a good vibe when I met him and he set up surgery for the next day. He actually talked about the price of the surgery. I am an idiot!!! Always follow your instincts. I would never let him touch me again. The funny thing is he specializes in fixing other doctors mistakes. What a joke.
Good Luck again. Sorry for my ranting...I am so mad at myself for using him.
