As recently posted, the laws are unclear on this arrangement.

I have been stopped again by the local plod for doing 55mph down the by-pass.

The speed limit is 60mph, so that was OK, but again they scratch their head as to the legality of the item.

I again pointed out that it is not "mechanically propelled", or wheel-driven, and a category has yet to be defined for such things.

No MOT, no road tax, etc.
I have a full motorbike licence, but this seemingly doesn't count, as it is not a motorbike.

On my way, then, leaving them and me a bit puzzled.

Thing is, plod recommended fitting little disc brakes.
As opposed to the normal block and rim things.

I thought that reasonably wise advice, but is it possible on what is basically a mountain bike ?

I have yet to have the throttle fully open, up to about 55mph so far, with crash helmet on, tyres up to their max of 65psi, and a keen sense of concentration.

It may do 70mph, if I get brave enough, but on what is a pushbike !

What about the brakes, though ?
Any notions ?

Bob
