Here is my problem that I hae been experiencing with my jeep:?

2000 jeep grang cherokee. The motor just started knocking a week ago.(173,000) I had to replace the cam position sensor but the vehical starts and runs just fine. The knocking is comming from the lower end. Ive been driving it for a week now but im not sure how long that will last. Any thoughts on what the issue is??
 
It will help to know which enging is in your grand cherokee. If it is the 4.0L then you may have bearing problems. If it is the 4.7L it could be the timing chain or bearings. Either way, its bad.
 
I would have the oil pump look at a buddy of mine had knocking sound in the lower end of his car it turn out to be the oil pump
