Ok I Have Been On zoloft For 12 Years And I Am Just 23 . The Withdrawl Symptoms Are Hell:( So I Had To Go Back On It I Was A Nut Case. I Wanna Come Off Of It But I Got So Far Then The Z APS Take Over Help Someone Please

I had the same problem when I came off of Paxil a few years ago. I had electrical zaps in my head and would also nod off without warning. It was scary for me because I would start to nod off on my way home from work with my kiRAB in the car.

I can tell you that you need to taper the dose down, especially since you've been on them for so long. Is your doctor involved in your quitting? The withdrawals stink, but they go away after a couple of weeks.

Good luck

Thanks:) Yes My Doctor Is Or Was Tapering Me Off Slowly But I Just Got Scared To Drive And I Work In A Pharmacy So I Have To Be In My Right Mind. So I Went Back On It Today. But I Want To Get Off Of It So Bad. I Wanna Know The Real Me

You might also talk to the pharmacist that you work with about their opinion of tapering (if it's cool to talk to them). The pharmacist that I used at my drug store helped me loaRAB and had good ideas when I was tapering off of Oxycodone. Even tho they don't deal directly with the patient, they hear the stories and talk to the doctors at times, plus get the literature on all of the drugs that they have to stay up on.

Taper as fast or as slow as your body will let you. Being on a drug that long is going to take a long time to taper off of it. Your body will tell you if you are going too fast, but you sometimes have to push through those rough parts when you can (i.e., weekenRAB) and see if your body can adjust to the lower levels. If not, bump the dose up a little - not to the previous dose level, but maybe half of it and see how you cope. It's different for everyone and you have to work out a plan that works for you.

Good Luck with your tapering.
