I have had a number of complaints that I have had ignored and recently I had a test that said I had severe bi lateral carpal tunnel and that I had ignored it so long I had permanent damage. why did I ignore the pain and loss of sensation? because I beleived my doctor when she said it was normal and to work on my posture. I need someone to listen to me. I have problems that I have lived with, but I don't want to wait till I'm disabled or dead for someone to take me seriously. If you have any suggestions please help me.

Hi hacilar,
I am not a doc. or a medical expert, but here is my two cents.

#1, I can't say enough about how much information exists on this site and how nice and smart the members are.

I feel and share your frustration with the medical industry. I have conflicting diagnoses for my neck and carpal and it sucks.

If I were you I would write out a bulleted list of your complaints and bring it with you when you go to the doctor. Also, I would start looking for a doc. that will read your list and take it seriously. Once you have a general practitioner that you like and trust, have them refer you to a neurosurgeon to look at possible solutions for your carpal.

I would also get the most comprehensive physical exam including blood work, if you haven't already (sounds like you have).

I would also study the carpal board here, and also the headache board, as well as, the fibro. board and the bowel disorders board. I am mentioning fibromyalgia because you have many areas of pain.

I had stomach issues but I got a juice machine and it has changed my life. I buy 30 lbs. of carrots, 5 fist sized beets, human head size cauliflower and broccoli, 4 pink grapefruits, 4 large oranges, 3 limes, 5 apples. (All organic). It costs about $35-$40/week. I wash everything and soak in apple cider vinegar 15 minutes to get rid of dirt and any chemicals. I make the juice and mix one quart at a time in the blender with 2 tablespoons wheat grass powder and one scoop ALIVE food supplement. This makes 3 gallons of juice and lasts me and my wife one week. It took me a couple years to get this recipe down.

Last. I would advise you to keep helping yourself by being your own advocate. If your doctors suck - fire them and move on. I am in Seattle near you and luckily this area is stocked with thousands of doctors to choose from.

That is probably more info. than you wanted. I hope you can pick through it and use some of it to your benefit.

Welcome to healthboards and may you find some answers here to make you well. Matt
