I am new to this site and I need to know what is going on with me. I was diagnosed with arthritis 2 years ago. Just recently I was prescribed hydromorph contin 18mg for my arthritis pain. Since Christmas I have been having really bad pain that starts in my lower back and travels down from my right hip to my right knee. My doctor thinks it's a pinched nerve in my lower back. He put me on Lyrica 75mg for the nerve pain. Is there any treatment for a pinched nerve?

Hi, yes there is. I have had back and neck problems all my life, and also have alot of arthritis in my low back. Physical therapy helped me immensely for pinched nerve pain. You can ask to be referred to PT or depending on your insurance, make an appointment yourself. Some people see a chiro., and that helps short term, but PT helped me long term, I have been to both. There is also short term steroids, 5 day course, and an injection that they try only if PT does not help, and if you have one of these, epidural, make sure you are numbed and sedated for this. PT helped long term, and the injection can also last for months.
