help with Verizon phone choice?

okay i was going to get the htc droid, which has wi fi, for free but in the fine print it said i had to buy a 3g contract which is 30 dollars a month and i cannot afford that so I was wondering if there is a Verizon phone "preferably touchscreen" that has wi fi and does not need to have a 3g contract. i would appreciate your input on my situation. Thank You
