Help with the old Pantech Breeze for Verizon (about 2 years ago)?

My dad has the old Pantech Breeze from Verizon (He got about 2 years ago). It's worked finish all this time until today, when it wouldn't make calls. I looked at it and it said on the home screen "Battery Save on. Press any key to exit." I pressed every key, in turn, but it never worked! I took out the battery and restarted the phone. It then said on the home screen, "System Searching". It's said that for quite awhile now, and I want to know if anyone knows how to fix it! I've searched all the menus for a fix, but can't find one.

Please help ASAP!
Let me know if there's something I can do, or if I should take it to the Verizon store.
