Help with some Mazda RX-8 problems?

What are some things that need to be known if you are planning to buy an 04 or 05 RX-8?

When people say don't drive it for short distances, what is considered a short distance (1 mile or less)?

Do you only need to let it warm up in the winter time?

What are some comparative prices for mechanical repairs, I have heard that repairs are expensive?

Are all RX-8's under the 10 year/100,000 warranty and is it transferable?

Do you really need to add oil every 3 fill ups or so?

About how long do you think a rotary engine could last?
 
Short distances are less than five miles, or before the temp gauge reaches and hold operating temp... ( less than five miles, you could walk...)

If you mean sit and idle, while the engine warms, you should not do that anytime, with any car.....

Don't know prices, would expect parts to be expensive....

Don't know about warranty

I would hope not on the oil....

there are fewer parts, and rotaries don't work as hard, I would think a well maintained one would 200k-300k...
