ok so this is microsoft word 2003

i have a lot of files on my flash drive, and i was moving them manually from folder to folder by highlighting and dragging and dropping them into other folders. i did this in groups. soon, i had moved all the files into 1 main folder, so the other folder was empty, because i had moved them all out. then i accidentally highlighted the wrong folder of the 2 and deleted the main folder that had EVERY SINGLE FILE I HAD JUST MOVED. in a panic, i went to the recycle bin, saw all my documents there, and pressed the button on the side, "Restore All", feeling very relieved. however, i went back to the flash drive, and the files WERE NOT there.

ive tried searching my entire "My Computer", and the files are no where to be found. AutoRecovery of Word can't find them, theyre not in "my recent documents", they are no where on the system. however, i tried the same thing with a different file that was saved in my documents. i deleted it and then went to the recycle bin and pressed recover all. sure enough the file was right back in the folder that i had deleted this one. so my question is: where the hell did my files go? all i did was fucking press restore all, and they just disappear? my guess is that the computer only restores files that were actually on it, not on an external flash drive? i really dont know though, im confused as hell and i almost cried because of the amount of files and important stuff that i just deleted.
PLEASE HELP GUYS
