I'm inquiring as to what the best setup would be to record live television.
I have cable running through an HD box, then an HDMI cable to the television. Unfortunately the external drive that acts as a PVR I attached to the HD box cannot be accessed through my computer - Bell rep lied to me.
I do have the 3 AV out slots on the television however. I was thinking I can get some sort of device with the 3 AV in slots which can save the file which can then be transferred via USB to the computer.
I had a USB to Coaxial connector to try and use the laptop as a monitor, but using a splitter didn't work.
I know some people used DVD recorders, however I would prefer not using up discs to record shows.
The ultimate goal is to have a digital copy on the computer. Let me know if you need more information.
Thank you
