Last year I had what I felt was one of my best seasons playing football at reserves level (I won the Best & Fairest) but towards the end of the season I felt majorly burnt out. This year I really want to have a crack at senior level but I know I need a BIG pre-season (I'm quite unfit at the moment)
I'm 18 years of age by the way.
Pre-season has started on Mondays & Wednesdays (will be changed to Tuesdays and Thursdays closer to the season).
I have a gym membership which I hardly ever use (I want to start using it to lift weights)
I also want to start boxing one night a week (it should increase when football training gets moved to different nights).
Okay so my question is this will boxing help me at all? Will it burn me out quicker during the season? Should I do a little more running/going to the gym in my spare time?
Cheers in advance.
