HELP!! with poetry Anne Sexton and Maya Angelou?

i have to do a research paper in the poems"her kind" by Anne Sexton and "Phenomenal Woman" but the problem is that i have never done a research paper in poetry so i dont knoe how to start: i need to compare, contrast, analize and use an approach, due to the themes of the poems im choosing feminist and sociologcal approach, any clue and ideas are welcome, THanks
