help with places to do work experience?

i've been told to find a place to do work experience for a week. i shall be sixteen at the time. my idea of an awful one would be stuck in my town doing something dull and useless. it doesnt have to be in a specific career set but i was thinking of something along the lines of vogue or the bbc!?
i'm not restricted to any area in particular .. or even the UK(lucky I know!)
and i would love to go to london.. or even the US.
just somewhere AMAZING ..that i havent thought of!! thanks x
