Help with PHP and mySQL needed?

i am new to PHP.
I am using dreamweaver for my work.
When i access my database using GET I can only retrieve the first or
the last entry of the column in my database.
Now what i want is that I should be able to access a particular entry
in the database column. How can i do that??
