a) What is the total contact area of the four tires with the pavement? ( Assume that the tire walls are flexible so that the pressure exerted by the tire on the pavement equals the air pressure inside the tire.)
b) For the same tire pressure, what is that area when the vehicle is loaded with 9.1 kN of passengers and cargo?
Can someone please also make clear to me the different forces acting on the tire. I am getting a little bit confused here...
