Help with painting ceiling?

We have painted the ceiling with two coats of flat ceiling paint and it looks very patchy depending on where you stand and how much light is coming in. It was previously painted with two coats of low sheen acrylic. The colour is white. How do I get an even looking ceiling? I want it to look even no matter where I stand and look at it. I used a roller cover that a painter gave me for flat paint.
It seems to be covered properly. It is more to do with light reflection or there must be something I am doing wrong, perhaps not enough paint or pushing too hard.

It sounds like the low sheen acrylic is showing through. You should of used liquid sandpaper on the ceiling to dull the finish, or used a stain killing primer like KILLZ.

try using a stain blocking primer such as Kilz 2 primer . Kilz 2 is a latex (water-based) primer and it should give you a real good base coat to restart your project with . After you have recoated the ceiling with the primer you can go ahead and roll on your flat white ceiling paint . It is always a good idea to stain block before putting on your top coats of paint , because it will give a good base for your new paint to stick to . I am a residential contractor and deal with these types of questions from home owners all of the time . Hope that your project works out for you
