For about 5 months now ive been suffering with chest pain, numb heavy arm and painful neck (which seems to be causing very frequent headaches). Its all on the left hand side of my body.
Obviously i went to doctors right away to rule out anything sinister. Have been sent for an x-ray and have had countless blood tests, all of which came up perfect (except im on borderline for over-active thyroid, but doc assures me that this isnt related and i will be monitored for that)
Ive also had 2 ECGs too, the first night i had the chest pain i panicked and thought i was having a heart attack so my partner phoned NHS 24 and they sent paramedics and i was assured it was defo not my heart. Was sent again, just to reassure me (they think i may have had a panic attack about the pain being situated in the left hand side, as i said i thought i was dying!)to the out of hours doc where she had me on the ECG machine again and same result, heart was in good working order.
Doctor then decided to send me for physio, have been for 6 weeks now and it has helped lift the heavy numbness from my left arm, but no avail with the chest/upper back pain and headaches. A friend advised a chiropractor as they focus more on rectifying the problem whereas the physio was mostly her showin me a couple of stretches so i went for a consultation and he explained a lot more to me and how he would help.
I realise my posture is a lot to do with this as it pushes down on the nerves in my neck, down to my shoulders and chest and this is potentially where the pain is all from. My posture probably really is bad, im at a computer a lot and even when walking and standin i tend to slump.
Can anyone recommend good posture excersises or any useful websites. Doc also think i am suffering from anxiety as a result of this chest pain and i am sick of painkillers that barely take the pain away, but leave me feeling sluggish. Id do anything to help ease this pain and stop feeling so anxious about it, and of course stop having to take painkillers constantly lol.
If anyone has any advice or has suffered the same then id love to hear your opinion.
Thankyou
