help with new TX- sync with old PDA

Have a Zodiac and now want to set up a Palm TX-

Read AND tried Palms article 40720 - but no luck.
The first clue was when after installing the new TX software and did the first Hotsync, I was NOT asked if I am a new user or have an existing user profile. Did the hot sync anyway, then tried again- no luck.

Plus, the Palm software wants to install into the Tapwave folder (C/Program files).

I then did a system restore, moved my user profile to the desktop, uninstalled the old Palm software, then installed the new (TX) software- still no luck.

I have now again did a system restore.so back to sqr one.

Please help on the setp, syncing of old contacts, Memos...
And how to remove the Tapwave folder from C/Program Files or at least when installing the new software, it creates its own Palm folder.

Hi sethm,

If you haven't tried this already, go back to the Support Knowledge Library article 40720 and make sure you followed the steps leading to the installation of the TX software exactly. This includes finding the Backup folder in the user folder of your Zodiac, renaming the Backup folder BackupOld and then installing the TX software. Also, there's no need to uninstall your old Palm software. Once your TX software has been installed successfully, you can transfer your applications to the TX one at a time from the folder you renamed BackupOld. Hope that helps.

Heather-
Thanks,
Yes, did follow the directions. This is also not my first time moving from and "older" Palm PDA to a "newer" one.
One of the things I did not like, was that during the TX install, the folder it chose to install into, was the Tapwave folder. That sounds like asking for a host of mix ups & incompatibility issues down the road.
