Master of the Obvious

For some reason my Walkman won't charge or be recognized by my computer. This is very strange because until a couple of weeks ago it worked fine and still works with other computers. My two USB ports still work and recognize all other devices. When connecting to the computer on the screen of the MP3 it says the USB has been connected but the computer shows no indication of this. Any ideas? All thoughts and ideas are welcome
