I'm looking for another job. I went for a customer service job position today because I work in the customer service industry. When I went to the interview the interviewer told me I was too qualify for the position (which I already knew but I need to leave my current job). I was explaining what I do and she said "you're more than customer service. With your qualifications you can work for jp morgan, AIG and other big companies". She then proceeded to tell me of other companies that are hiring. After that interview I had a boost of confidence because she agreed that I should not make less than $20/hr which is what I currently make with commission. I want to try to get a job with a big company and work my way up. There’s just one thing. It’s hard for me to write down and explain what I do on a resume. I want to write a very professional resume. I'm looking in the job market that pays $40,000-$45,000/ yr. I really need your help in formatting my resume. This is what I do:
1) I do customer service over the phone. 2) The main duties of my job are to retain business customers. When they are fed up with our company my job is to find the root cause of their unhappiness and try to resolve it so that they don't cancel our service. I do this by doing a lot of negotiating and persuasion. For example: if someone calls us and want to cancel because of bad customer service or a customer service rep was rude to them, they are transferred the client over to me. Once the client comes over to me I find out what happened and I try to find out what exactly they were calling for. I apologize a lot for everything and I make it so that on that one call I’m resolving all their issues so that they don't have to call back and also for 6 months if they have any issues they call me directly so that I can address it and fix it for them. Also I’m an account manager to business customers. I would say my job is sales because I’m selling the company and also I make commission
and I have a lot of other quotas to meet also. 95% of the people I talk to are very angry so I deal with angry clients all day and when they get off the phone with me I have to make sure they are not angry anymore ( or at least try to the best of my ability). Can I please get some help in formatting this on my resume? I don’t know how to write that down. The interviewer did not even know what I did until I went in there. Thanks for all the help
