help with my Panasonic home cinema?

I have a SC-PT90 home cinema, we have connected it and the sound works through the home cinema, however we can't get the sound to work off the sky+ through the tv. The Home cinema is connected through a HDMI cable, as is the Sky box, we've just connected a stereo phono cable from the sky to the home cinema and can't get the sound to work, help
