help with my htc hero phone from sprint!!?

i just don't get it i got a plan with unlimited web browsing so im guess sprint is providing me with some mobile network or 3g network yet it only lets me use the internet when im using wi fi access does any one know what to do so i can use my internet without using Wi Fi? Cause i do have mobile network yet it reads turning on.... and it just stays like that :-(
