help with my ford taurus!!?

i own a 97 ford taurus gl, when i start it up at anytime of the day and put it into drive, and ease on the gas a little, the engine just revs instead of making the car go like its in neutral, after a second or two of easing on the gas, it finally JERKS into drive, like i was rearended. it also does this in reverse. also, when i come to a complete stop, say at a stop sign, it will do the same thing, like going into neutral until i ease on the gas a bit. can someone please help me out with this it is verryyy annoying
 
Check to make sure you aren't low on transmission fluid. Low fluid will cause that. If the fluid is full, it sounds like you make have a valve sticking in the valve body.
 
transmission needs looking into. sounds like its slipping big time. wont get better by its self.
