Help with motorola q problem?

i activated the motorola q after i bought it off of ebay and the second day i had it i was in a dead zone for a couple hours and after i went back to a good service area i couldnt send text messages anymore..the first day it worked fine and even minutes before going into the dead zone i could send txt messages..any solutions
