Help with lyrical dance solo?

I need help on figuring out a lyrical dance solo.. Ive never done a solo before, but am hoping to do one at competition this year. it is my senior year so this is more for fun, although if i placed that would be awesome too. ive never really done this type of dance before but im very interested in it, im just looking for some advice. like i said im not expecting to place, just want to have fun, but i also don't want to get out there and look stupid ha. i think im going with the song iris by goo goo dolls because i have a lot of emotional memories with that song. any tips on moves, costume, hair, ect would be very appreciated! thank you!
