Help with Ipod Touch 3G Bluetooth Please..?

I'm trying to pair my ipod touch with a bluetooth headset and not having any luck..Do you have to use a certain kind of headset for it? I have tried a Jabra, motorola and a talk2 headset and cant get the touch to see any of them..(yes the headset is in pairing mode) it searches but never finds them..Any help is greatly appreciated..It's the ipod touch 8GB 3rd gen
I have the latest updates..
