Help with interior designing for my lounge?

Hi There
I need some inspiration for decorating my new lounge. Here goes...
The room is very square shaped painted all in magnolia. We have light beige carpets with a darker deep pile rug with a mirrored glass coffee table. Our fireplace is white with an oval dish and white coal. We have a black TV above the fireplace.
My question is what colour curtains? My boyfriend fancies dark curtains with a hint of red but Im not sure as does that mean we will need to add red accessories around the room? We haven't bought an accessories yet.
Oh and also we haven't bought a sofa yet as not sure what colour either?
Any help would be gratefully received and photos would be great :-)

could you take a picture?? I think that would help. I'm thinking dark chocolate curtains (this way you don't have to change them if you ever want to redecorate.. it matches everything). I then think you should find some pictures that you love that show off your styles, and take the colors from there to find the color of the accessories that you should use. Get inspired by going thru magazines.. I personally love potterybarn (www.potterybarn.com). Best of luck (sounds beautiful)
 
Paint the fireplace red and add red accessories I know your think red but trust me it looks good Classic red B&Q must be matt not silk.
