Help with installing a new civilization mod for Civ IV/Civ BtS?

I downloaded the mod, put it in Program Files/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/Mods and it didn't work. I could only see the mod's name on the top left part of the screen (after I loaded it) but I couldn't find the new civilization in the part where you choose one to start a new game.
I also tried downloading the same mod for BtS, put it in the mod's folder in BtS but the same thing happened. Help me please.
