I have a 97 honda civic (2 door coupe) and its a stick shift. I bought it used about 4 months ago and everything has been fine till tonight. Lately its been cold outside (about 40 or 50 degrees). It was driving fine today and when i got in the car a few minutes ago to drive it back home, something wierd happened. It stalled on me on first. normally when its on neutral, its on 1000 rpms but now its on about 1300. when i accelerate and go from neutral to 1st, it wants to turn off, and it shakes alot (so i accelerate more so it doesnt turn off). when its time to shift into second, it shakes alot again, like if it was losing power and basically the car feels really heavy while driving (no power). when i got home and went to park it, it wanted to turn off on 1st again. and finally when i parked it and went outside, the car smelled burnt, coming from under the hood. I know most of you would have to see this to figure out the problem but could you guys atleast give me idea on what might be wrong. amillion thanks in advance.
