Help with Harvest Moon Magical Melody; fishing?

I can't seem to catch any fish! I've stood in a great fishing spot for days at a time just fishing, but I can't seem to catch anything. How do I catch fish???
 
cast ur rod and wait, the best spot is up by the fishing property

remember if an exclamation point is above ur head and u hear a wierd noise push A
 
You have to watch the bobber, and when it gets taken, rapidly press A. at least I think so. i haven't played Magical melody in about 2 years, so I'm just assuming based on my memory. Hope it helps.
