help with downloading flash player 8 on vista?

i have tried literally 100 times to download flash 8 for my computer
it will go through the whole process but the download succes video wont play
i think thats where the problems start
then when it try to watch a video it says i need flash player 8
even thought i just downloaded it
grrrr
help me
