help with debate for a college class?

OK i have a debate about how parent should pay the price for when their kids mess up like a ticket from school for their kid skipping classes or if some kid destroys your property you would go after the parent to pay for it i would like to hear both sides of the topic i have ideas now but its not 6 pages long just looking for some more and if you find the info on the internet i need the url to find it my self to be able to use the info thank you for your help
